Tristan Gauci: Like any sequel, our goal with CherryPop Burst was to create a more engaging and feature-packed version of the beloved CherryPop- no easy task given the original’s strong following. We kept the core elements players love, including the award-winning PopWins mechanic, where winning symbols pop and expand the reels for bigger potential. From there, we built on the excitement with fresh features. The all-new Fortune Flip Wheels reimagine the classic Gamble Wheel, appearing at the end of the bonus round and letting players keep or wager their winnings for a shot at even bigger rewards. We’ve also added random multipliers, random free spins, bonus buys, and an ante bet option, giving players more ways to boost their play. Visually, the game has been completely upgraded, offering a more vibrant and detailed look compared to the original’s neon aesthetic—making CherryPop Burst feel like a whole new experience.

Can you give us a sneak peek into the bonus features? Is there anything brand new that CherryPop fans haven’t seen before?

Tristan Gauci: Absolutely! All the bonus features have been completely reimagined. The classic bonus round from CherryPop is now more elaborated, with random Free Spins, higher-value random multipliers, and a glamorous finish with the Fortune Flip Wheels, giving players the chance to boost their winnings even further. How long did it take from idea to finished game for CherryPop Burst?

Tristan Gauci: The development timeline was similar to our other titles, but the concept phase was particularly challenging. Creating a sequel to such a strong performer meant we had to strike the right balance by keeping the core elements loved by CherryPop fans while introducing fresh, more thrilling features to excite players looking for something new.

Can you share a behind-the-scenes fun fact about the development of CherryPop Burst?

Tristan Gauci: During development, some of the team jokingly suggested naming the game “Cherry Cherry Baby.” It was our “baby” after all, and it had cherries, so they thought it was a perfect fit!

Finally, do you already have plans for more sequels in the PopWins series?

Tristan Gauci: CherryPop Burst isn’t the first sequel to feature our signature PopWinsTM mechanic and fan-favorite cherries. We’ve previously brought the excitement to CherryPop Deluxe and XmasPop Delight, both showcasing the same iconic symbols and gameplay style. Looking beyond the cherries, we also launched PiggyPop Grand Affair, a sequel to the well-known PiggyPop that combines PopWins with the popular Hold & Win mechanic. And let’s not forget TikiPop and TikiPop Spooky Temples, which continue the adventure in their own unique ways. And this is just the beginning — we have even more PopWins sequels in the pipeline, so stay tuned!
